A reports state that five robbers armed with knives boarded an anchored bulk carrier

A report states ten robbers armed with knives boarded a berthed bulk carrier in Berth
107, Belawan, Indonesia . The alarm was raised and the crew were mustered. The local
authorities were called and boarded the vessel. Upon seeing the alerted authorities the
robbers escaped with stolen ship’s stores.

It has been reported via VHF 16 to local Port Control and to the IMB that a duty AB
whilst on routine rounds noticed 5 robbers on the forecastle deck, he immediately
informed the officer of watch who raised the alarm and mustered the crew. Upon
hearing the alarm and seeing the crew's alertness the robbers escaped in their wooden
boat. On investigation it revealed that the paint store door was damaged and ships
stores were stolen.
