During routine rounds the deck watchman, on-board a berthed container ship noticed
two robbers near the forward store. He alerted the Chief officer and the embarked local

police. Seeing the alerted watchman the robbers escaped. Upon further investigation
ship’s stores were found missing. The Police personnel on-board the ship refused to
take any action. Agent and port authorities notified.

CW ALERT 0053-15 The Thailand flagged tanker LAPIN was hijacked on the 13.02.2014 by 8 armed pirates.
While the pirates where on board they siphoned off 2,000 tonnes of bunker oil and 5
tonnes of diesel oil. The pirates released and disembarked the tanker on the
14.02.2015. There have been no reports of any injuries to the crew. This alert will be
updated with more in-depth detail once they have been confirmed by a number of
reliable sources.

It has been reported that two robbers boarded an anchored bulk carrier using hooks
attached with ropes while in Taboneo Anchorage, Indonesia. The duty crew members
spotted the robbers and informed the Bridge. The alarm was raised and the crew were
mustered. Upon seeing the crew alertness, the robbers escaped in their boat. Upon
investigation, it was found that two padlocks were broken but nothing stolen.
