It has been reported that five robbers managed to board an anchored container ship at
around 7nm South of Vung Tau, Vietnam. The alert crew spotted the robbers and raised
the alarm. Seeing the crew alertness, the robbers escaped with stolen ship’s stores.

Exact position unknown. A report has been released stating a tanker has been hijacked
by eight masked pirates who were armed with long knives. The pirates approached the
tanker on a small boat and took control of the tanker just after departing the Port of

Bitung on the 28.01.2015. The tanker is carrying 1100 tons of diesel.
On the 31.01.2015, 14 Indonesian crew were rescued by Indonesian Authority from life
rafts believed to belong to the missing tanker. To this date the tanker is still missing.
Reports on the tankers name are vague and investigations are still being conducted.
ReCAAP have released the name of the tanker as MT REHOBOT.
UPDATE: This alert has been confirmed from several reliable sources now and
upgraded from an advisory to a HIJACK incident. The vessels details are now confirmed
as MT REHOBOT Callsign: JZLO IMO:8916683, Her hull is orange and the
accommodation block is white in colour. The fate of the tanker and the cargo are still
unknown.
This is the second hijacking within the same week - please see CW Alert 0034-15.
UPDATE 2: On the 23.02.2015 the PGC had received a report that a ship had run
aground in Brgy Cabuaya, Mati City, Philippines. The Coast Guard and Naval Intelligence
Security Group proceeded to the location. The Philippines authorities have confirmed
that the grounded vessel is the Hijacked MT REHOBOT. Initial investigation shows that
is a spillage of an unknown substance. It is still unclear what happen on the vessel since
the Hijacking on the 28.01.2015 but Clearwater will update this information once the
investigation has been carried out.
