CW ALERT 01/02/15 2106 UTC HIJACK 4° 43' 33" N 002° 29' 30" E

Exact position of hijacking unknown. It has been reported that a Ghanaian flagged
fishing trawler known as LU RONG YUAN YU 917 has been hijacked by 9 pirates armed
with AK 47's. The report states 21 crew members jumped overboard and were rescued
by the Togolese Navy. 7 crew members are believed to still be on-board. The Togo and
Benin Navy have tried to intercept the trawler but with no success.
The last confirmed position of the trawler is 04°16.25N 003°49.56E on the 02.02.2015 -
10:17.
UPDATE 1: The latest report indicates that out of the 21 crew who jumped overboard,
one died in the water. The Togo Navy did open fire on the trawler. At 10:17 today
(02.02.2015) the trawler was underway at a speed of 8.8kts and a course of 085°. Once
more positions and information becomes available Clearwater will update this alert.
UPDATE 2: It has been reported that at 04:10 UTC on the 03/02/2015. In the position of
CW ALERT 0035-15
05°:03 N – 005°:15 E, Around 8 Nm off Nigeria, the pirates left the vessel and the master
is sailing back to a safe port. Will update as further reports are available.
CW ALERT 0038-15 CW ALERT 03/02/15 2220 UTC PIRATE 4° 12' 3" N 008° 04' 04" E
0038-15 ATTACK

Several reliable sources have confirmed that the Crude Oil Tanker KALAMOS was
attacked on Tuesday 03rd February 2015 at approximately 2220 hrs LT. The MT
KALAMOS was reported to have been approached by two speed boats with several
armed men on board each. 8 of the gunmen boarded the Tanker and kidnapped 3 crew
members (2nd Engineer and 2 AB's, TBC) a further crew member has been reported as
seriously injured, stated as the Chief Engineer of Pakistan nationality.
