CW ALERT 04/02/15 0500 UTC GENERAL 13° 30' 0" N 49° 54' 0" E
0039-15 ALERT

The Master of a Merchant vessel has reported sighting suspicious vessels to
UKMTO. Descriptions given in the report are that of 1 boat with a white hull,
brown coloured bridge and 10 POB this was sighted at a distance of 3nm at
speeds of 7kts towing 4 white skiffs, the suspicious boat then moved towards
the vessel to approximately 1nm and stopped. A Further boat was observed on
their port bow at speeds of 7kts towing 1 blue skiff and accompanied by 1 white
CW ALERT 0041-15 skiff with 2 POB and 1 large outboard engine. The white skiff crossed the
vessel’s bow at a speed of 25kts and closed to 1nm on the vessel’s starboard
side. The on board armed security team displayed weapons and skiff withdrew

back towards the mother boat. Suspicious boats stayed closed to vessel for a
further 20-30 minutes. No weapons or ladders were sighted. Vessel has been
reported as safe.
CW ALERT 04/02/15 0640 UTC GENERAL 21°30' 48" N 59° 49' 0" E
0041-15 ALERT

A report indicates that a Liberia bulk carrier reported sighting 1 white skiff at a
range of around 19NM off the Omani coast, the skiff was seen by the Master
and Crew changing course and passing by the starboard side to follow the MV at
a speeds of 18-20 kts, the skiff closed in to a distance of 2NM with a CPA of
0.8NM of the vessel. 2-3 persons were observed on board, the MV took evasive
measures increasing speed and activating hoses whilst the armed security team
on board stood to, this resulted in the skiff ceasing its approach and aborted
following at around 0735 LT. No weapons/ladders were sighted. All crew and
vessel are reported as safe.
