CW ALERT 10/02/15 0905 UTC GENERAL 20° 04' 3" N 50° 43' 3" E
0050-15 ALERT

A Master has reported to the UKMTO of suspicious activity off the coast of
Madagascar. A vessel was spotted on the radar at 26nm, when the vessel was
at 11nm she altered course closing the CPA to 1.6nm. The Master altered his
course to open the CPA but the suspicious vessel altered to a similar course.
CW ALERT 0058-15 Once at 3nm the suspicious vessel was described as 30-35 metres long, blue hull
with a white structure and a crane on board. A skiff was launched from the
vessel and begun its approach. The embarked security team fired a rocket flare
towards the approaching the skiff which resulted in the skiff returning to the
suspicious vessel. The vessel has reported as being safe. No piracy equipment
was seen.

CW ALERT 17/02/15 1120 UTC GENERAL 14° 51' 0" N 52° 20' 0" E
0058-15 ALERT

A Master of a vessel has reported to the UKMTO of a suspicious approach. A
suspicious vessel with black hull approached to the port side to within 2 cables
at high speed. The Master carried out evasive manoeuvres and the Armed
Security Team fired rocket flares which resulted in the suspicious vessel slowing
down and then changing direction. Ten minutes later four more suspicious
vessels with white hulls approached on the port and starboard sides at a
distance of 5 cables. The Master again, carried out evasive manoeuvres until the

distance increased and the suspicious vessels moved away. No
weapons/tripwires were sighted. Vessel is reported as safe.
