0048-15 VESSEL
CW ALERT 0048-15 A security team leader on board the BEKS CENK has reported to the Clearwater
Operations Centre that they were approached by two white skiffs. When the
skiffs started their approach 2nm from the bow, the Master was called to the
Bridge and the ship's course was altered to 40° starboard. The skiffs came to
within 1nm of the bulk carrier, the on board Armed Security Team showed
their weapons. The skiffs continued on the same course and then stopped 2nm
astern of the bulk carrier. The security team observed the skiffs until they got
underway in a north easterly direction. There were 3-4 persons on board each
skiff, no weapons sighted.

CW ALERT 0049-15 0049-15 VESSEL
Clearwater Operations Centre has received a report from a PMSC stating that
the tanker they are embarked on was approached approximately 55nm from
the IRTC point B. A total of three skiffs approached the tanker at speeds of 15-
17knts and coming to within 3 cables of the tanker.
The crew were mustered in the Citadel while the Armed Security Team
prepared weapons and secured the vessel. The Master activated fire hoses,
altered ship's course and increased speed. A series of rocket flares were fired to
illuminate the area and warn off the potential pirates. After 25 minutes the
skiffs ceased their approach. The vessel and crew are reported as safe.
